<p>I built this because I could not keep up with the AI developer tooling space and wanted to get an overview on hot tools.<p>The site tracks more then 500 tools across 19 categories with a unified scoring and combines GitHub signals with curated datasets and ranks. The scoring is intentionally not a universal leaderboard but it helps to see the leading tools in a category quickly.<p>I would be happy to get some feedback :)</p>

<p>Built DevKit because I was tired of pasting JWTs, API keys, and wallet addresses into random online tools. Everything processes in-browser — nothing touches a server.<p>80 tools across 8 categories:
- Format & Validate: JSON, SQL, Markdown, YAML, HTML, CSS
- Encode/Decode: Base64, URL, JWT, Image→Base64, HTML Entities
- Convert: Timestamps, JSON↔CSV, JSON↔YAML, cURL→fetch, chmod, Cron, Bitwise, Memory
- Generate: Hashes, Passwords, UUIDs, Lorem Ipsum, JWTs, ASCII Art, .gitignore, CSP
- Test: Regex, Diff, JSONPath, HTTP Headers, Color Contrast, Password Strength
- Docs: Git (70+ cmds + 10 rescue scenarios), Docker, Bash, TypeScript, React Hooks, GraphQL, SQL
- AI & ML: Token counter, dataset cleaner, confusion matrix, embedding visualizer
- Blockchain/Web3: Keccak-256, ABI encoder, Merkle tree, gas calculator, wallet validator<p>5 developer themes (Midnight, GitHub Dark, Dracula, Nord, Monokai). Feedback welcome — what tools are missing?</p>

<p>We've been running coding agents against standardized repos
with natural-language prompts — no tool names, no hints —
and measuring what they actually choose.<p>Early finding: Claude Code picks Custom/DIY in 12 of 20
categories. Not because it can't use the tools (BFCL scores
suggest it can) but because it doesn't reach for them.
That's a different failure mode than capability benchmarks
measure.<p>We score each tool on: agent visibility, pick rate vs
Custom/DIY, cross-context breadth, expert human ratings,
and implementation success rate. Tools above survival=1
persist. Below it, agents synthesize around them.<p>Methodology is at survivalindex.org/methodology. Very
curious what people think of the measurement approach,
especially the human coefficient variable.</p>

<p>I got tired of jumping between browser tabs for everyday dev
tasks like formatting JSON, hashing strings, converting colors,
and testing regex. So I spent 6 months building Devly.<p>It sits in your macOS menu bar. Click, pick your tool, get
your result, copy it, done. No internet required, no
subscriptions, no tracking.<p>The hardest technical challenge was getting all 50+ tools to
work inside Apple's App Sandbox without breaking functionality.
Also spent a lot of time making it feel like a real macOS app
rather than a web wrapper — pure SwiftUI, zero third-party
dependencies.<p>Just hit #1 in Developer Tools on the App Store.<p>App Store: <a href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/devly/id6759269801?mt=12">https://apps.apple.com/us/app/devly/id6759269801?mt=12</a>
