anything within 45 minutes of your office in palo alto (where you are mandated to show up 5 days a week). this will get you a 1300sqft piece of shit built in 1964 with asbestos and lead paint and lead pipes and a cracked foundation (also some dipshit realtor had them paint all the original wood beams and paneling inside gloss white and replace the original wood and slate floors with grey vinyl) from some baby boomer forklift driver or mailman who paid 40k for it (you will pay 40k per year in property taxes for it), all for the privilege of “only” spending an hour of your life a day commuting so you can sit in your assigned area of your open concept office with noise canceling headphones on zoom meetings for 4 hours a day surrounded by other people on zoom meetings who also just expended a collective 5000 man hours and countless CO2 emissions to be there.

Showcasing a product where visual fidelity is the entire experience with embedded 12fps gifs is definitely a decision.

It said levels off not declines. Most of the west has been leveling off and prices still increase. Although I was surprised that the US growth rate is lower than Canada

Mine is over $0.60/kWh in Silicon Valley ironically making most gas cars cheaper per mile.

How do people buy used cars? Besides crypto, I don’t know of any non-cash payment method that isn’t prone to fraud, overdraft, or transaction cancellation/reversal in the United States and many sellers on Craigslist etc will only take cash

Have you ever tried to read a license plate on dash cam footage? Unless they’re right in front of you in traffic it’s basically impossible. You would probably need a high resolution camera taking pictures every couple seconds instead or maybe when 8k dash cams are commonly available.

I wonder if the PS5 could emulate the PS3 with reasonable performance. It’s sad that Sony seems to have just abandoned 90% of their library rather than putting forth the investment to develop and maintain their emulators like Microsoft has.

4chan does have rules. Low quality posts, spam, racism and nsfw are against the rules on most boards.

American Football guitar tunings: https://twitter.com/americfootball/status/864900332836585475...

Note that these are also tuned down a half step from how the songs on their first self titled LP (not to be confused with their second or third self titled LP) were originally recorded due to Mike’s vocal range changing over 20 years.

New comment by 0x00000000 in "Bluetooth remains an 'unusually painful' technology after two decades"

0x00000000 — Wed, 20 Jul 2022 15:17:34 +0000

If you use Apple Music, it has the additional benefit of wasting all of your data and battery every time you turn your car on since it streams your entire library on shuffle.

I thought I was clever and could fix this problem by using the iPhone’s “Shortcuts” app “Automation” feature to pause after connecting to the car’s Bluetooth. But for some reason the thing called “automation” requires manual fucking interaction every time. Yes, that’s right you have to click on a prompt to run the “automation” shortcut.

Turns out it’s a limitation of the “on connect to Bluetooth” trigger for “security” yet this isn’t explained anywhere. Because if someone stole my phone and car they might be able to... pause the music? Thanks Apple.
