Why are your kind so desperate to spin this situation into anything remotely positive? Is it buyer's remorse? Tribalism? Desperation?

We're in deep shit. A lot of people saw it coming, a lot of people ignored the warnings. A lot of people tried to spin this like it was no big deal "nothing to see here, all is well." It doesn't matter if this is a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-dont - we're in the shit now, and that's all that matters.

I'm unfamiliar with the legislation in those states that have instituted a pre-emptive ban. Are those old laws still on the books that would go back into effect? Any references you could provide would be useful and appreciated.

I don't find a butthurt, thinly veiled anticapitalist rant about known quantities and easily accessible numbers, by written by someone who enjoys a mountain of privilege, to be particularly interesting or compelling.

Things are more expensive than they were in our youth. Entertainment destinations are expensive. The privileged class can afford them. These things are not new.

Companies really should be making resources available to help folks adapt and succeed remotely. Tools like toggl [1] go a long way in providing structure that is suddenly swept away. Remote work used to be niche, then it was thrust upon the populace.

Not disparaging the company whatsoever, but depending on the job you're looking for at Indigo, make sure you take a look at Glassdoor. Indigo looks impressive from many angles, yes. And while it's anecdotal at best, I say with all honesty that I have a few close friends that have interviewed there and confirm the central themes of the negative reviews.

Agreed. Appalled that someone down-voted the comment. You can't just shout "racism" and make it so. As outlined in the screenshots - the countries that Slack claims are sanctioned vary greatly, as do the races which occupy them.

I have a hard time trusting that my cable bill will get to Comcast on time via the USPS. I've seen unopened UPS and FedEx envelopes left in the street, out in the rain. Voting by mail gives me personally no more faith that my vote will be counted correctly than does a digital voting machine. Voting in person and on paper gives me some level of comfort, but I'm always cynically curious what happens after I leave my polling place.

absolutely agree on all three points. unfortunately it's well known that governments often go with the lowest bid for a plethora of goods and services, and it's all to easy to lowball a bid to push machines that suck.
