Another concern I have heard voiced is that CBCD could be programmed - eg. you can't buy X, or you can only buy Y at certain times, or for certain prices, etc. and has the potential for reduced liberty vs. cash.

Too late to edit, but in response to earlier poster that deleted their reply, national day of commemoration is probably more accurate than holiday, agreed, thank you. There was some confusion on this point from sources deriving from: https://www.svoboda.org/a/29664681.html (translated headline indicates holiday). I don’t think it changes the thrust of the original point much, but I prefer precision as well.

The benign ignorance of symbology that comes across in the article aside, the celebration of Stepan Bandera with a national holiday, street names in their capital and elsewhere, monument, etc. is telling.

30+ years of midwest raves did me in. One sound system had 1MW bass bins - have been to some with ~40ft x ~15ft of bass bins. Only one ruptured ear drum in all of that time (Regis - didn't even seem that loud) - that's the ear that is the worst. Doesn't bother me, other than anxiety about potential neurological effects.

Great book about the rise of the Berlin techno scene called Der Klang Der Familie. In my read of that, the techno of Berlin and Detroit arose organically, simultaneously, and they sort of found each other serendipitously, and were connected through clubs like Tresor and labels like Interfisch. The world wasn't as connected in the late 80's early 90's as it is today, and particularly for the sorts of people that were squatting in abandoned structures in East Berlin.

A book I read recently suggested to let your inner critic speak, but then let, what it calls, your inner advocate get the last word - counter what the inner critic is saying. I have tried this on a number of occasions and it's been net positive for me - YMMV.

HST training sequence was the best sounding. Would love to hear that again, and see a breakdown of what was going on there. Probably not as easy as maybe it's a trade secret vs. published standard. Also the stealth fighter of modems if you remember the print ads for it.

This is probably my favorite sporting event, but I will also be boycotting. For others I have talked to that are doing the same, it was principally the corruption. For me it was the labor practices and the 6500+ people that died working on the stadiums that will likely be torn down or fall into disuse once the event is over.

I'm the only one in my family that will take a pill. Everyone else will only do gummies. I'm with you, but I'm the minority in my small sample. I'd be looking to maximize absorption/bioavailability vs. flavor.
