As controversial as this new wave of e-commerce is, its extremely effective.
There's a new Pokemon pack rip site every week now. What there isn't is a way for a store that already sells things to run this themselves, so I built one.

So my dad has been running a small print shop for the last 20+ years. He mainly works with brokers and wholesale but was never able to tap into the retail scene.
Helped him build this AI business card generator that will hopefully drive more retail business to his shop.
Just paste a website url and you get a double-sided on-brand business card in a few minutes. Shipping and printing is handled by our family print shop in LA.
Thoughts and feedback welcome!

Hey Hackernews!
I built this as a hackathon project (two weeks). The concept is simple: instead of launching a token and dumping it on your supporters, Sizl is a launchpad where anybody with just a Twitter can launch a refundable erc20 token. Instead of making money on the initial sale, creators make money sustainably through the yield generated from staked funds. 8% on USDB and 3.1% via ETH
Use-cases
- Seed a community for your project (High-quality replacement for Quest & Zealy campaigns)
- Launch a loyalty/fans club (Creator Coins)
- Get funding for an idea (Kickstarter / pre-pre-seed funding)
- Get first users (Product Hunt)
- Ecosystem grant distribution
- Patreon
You can try it out here (Blast Testnet) log in using your Twitter and click launch community: https://testnet.sizl.fund
Here's a thread I wrote that also demos and explains the concepts:

GM HN!
Working on a novel way to auction non-standard tokenized assets. Two main quirks with the way our auctions work
1. Bid-to-earn model that encourages bidders to participate actively, bidding high and early. Incentivizing people to bid even though they may not want the underlying asset.
2. Instant Liquidity: Sellers get to tap into the liquidity from the bidders by paying a fee that gets redistributed to bidders based on how much bid "risk" they take (the standard rate is set at 3%)
Note: Sellers can cancel the auction anytime, but they will need to repay whatever they took out plus an additional fee, which is paid to bidders. Canceled auctions effectively become loans. Unlike p2p laon protocols, our auctions optimize for the sale (default) instead of the repayment.
Video showing how to get a loan/advance for a tokenized Pokemon card on Liq: https://www.loom.com/share/5bd2d2fd4e7f4ff58a7227379720e2d2?sid=ab9429d1-30a2-41e6-82ac-15afc47a2835
If you want to bid or play around with what we've built so far:
https://beta.liq.auction
*Ignore the Request access button on the page and click "Login" on the top right to get access. To bid, you'll need some USDC on Polygon. The Pokemon cards being auctioned off are physically backed and redeemable cards vaulted by Courtyard (a startup backed by YC)
Happy to answer any questions and listen to feedback!

Hello HN!
Plugd takes the Expedia ideology and applies it to sneakers.
iOS (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/plugd-sneaker-deal-finder/id1486098895)
Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.getplugd.plugd)
Website (https://getplugd.com)
My roommate and I originally started working on this as a side project in August as an internal tool to help us with arbitrage sneaker trading (https://medium.com/plugd/leveraging-market-data-to-trade-sneakers-8842ee710246). We posted the prototype on the r/sneakers subreddit on a whim and were taken back by how much Redditors enjoyed our project. We got our first initial users, and with the help of the comments in that thread, were able to build out a product roadmap.
Original Reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/Sneakers/comments/cz3r58/a_little_side_project_i_made_for_sneaker_price/)
Since then we’ve both quit our jobs and have been working on Plugd full-time. We’ve added more vendors, a used section, and shipping + tax info to help buyers make more informed purchasing decisions. We also launched the first iterations of our Android and iOS app!
We’re always looking for feedback, so give it a try and let us know what you think! We can be reachable at hello@getplugd.com
