This isn't really a fair comparison imo.

There hasnt been near the confusion and drama surrounding things like codex and gemini-cli. I don't think they're all on the same pedestal right now

I've had twice the issues with GNOME as I have with KDE or Cinnamon

I think it all really depends on the wants and workflows of the user

That's the problem I have with most DE talks though

People act like these issues are going to "stop the Linux migration" or otherwise, and then they give examples of things that most users will never do/isn't even possible on windows / mac

It feels like most people don't like some DE's just simply because it's not what they're used to, not because there is actually a problem with them

Sure, but the contract in place forbids these things. So the contract is literally a non-performer and cannot perform such orders in the way it is written. So, I personally struggle to see outside of taking over the supply chain how Anthropics contract forces them to do this

It could be problem specific. There are certain non program things that opus seems better than sonnet at as well

To be frank, TB support on Linux in general is kinda crap. I'm not surprised this might take them a while, and I'm sure it's lower priority compared to other things on the road map

The only way I can read it and have it make sense is using "artificial" as in a by-product outside of the usual make-up of the product.

It makes sense in other industries, like calling vinyl wrap an artificial cosmetic change on cars compared to painting.

But makes less sense in this situation

Using ffmpeg packages in termux you can already access the mediacodec apis for hw accelerated encode/decode

Termux has a similar bar now. Maybe it didn't used to in the past, but always has since I've used it
