I only have one wish for the Zero 3 W: 1GB RAM. I’m not even asking for more.

I think we’re wanting the same thing/ use here. I agree the price is outrageous but I ended up preordering anyway because at the end it’s still a good deal if you do the math. I’m excited for the AV1 (hardware now) and more horsepower for VP9 (software).

If backend GitHub services are anything like GHES then I’m surprised it even managed to scale this much.

This is the way! And I wish I could be part of it. Sadly, FB Marketplace is the only platform I that seems to be decent for random sales os stuff I no longer need.

Please, tell me there is this better option called X/Y, and I’ll happily switch. I just haven’t found it.

Such a shame that some afterthought Meta accidentally implemented is better than the rest of their entire platform.

Technically speaking, Safari is the second most used browser. It’s quite surprising how often I get these “unsupported browser” popups. I still use it as my primary and have FF as a backup. No Chrome needed.

I bet there’s a class action coming.

And Sony made it easy for them too by using this verbiage: “previously purchased content”

New comment by 404mm in "Caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee lower stress, depression and impulsivity"

404mm — Mon, 29 Jun 2026 13:19:54 +0000

Also, for anyone who ever tried to quit coffee, probably knows this— the period of feeling down, useless, slow, and tired after you quit is brutal for about 1-2 weeks and can last months for long-time coffee drinkers. No wonder people feel great after having coffee again.

And decaf is not caffeine-free. Decaf coffee still contains about 5-10% of the original caffeine content compared to the same beans but not decaffeinated.

And then there’s the tiny sample size :( and no control group. This is worse than useless. This is the kind of waste that news stations will pick and advertise.

This lacks the easy control over blocking the “aliases” you’re done with. The real pro tip is to use this domain with something like addy.io (paid or self-hosted) where you can either pre-create the aliases or have them dynamically created for you as they become used for the first time - and having control over each of them so you can block it when you want.

YES! Tesla account for the majority blinding headlights in my area. The rest is idiot drivers who just drive with their high beams on.

New comment by 404mm in "Raspberry Pi 5 – 16GB RAM"

Imagine having a business relying on the Pi boards! It’s worth adding Pi4@1GB still costs $35 but any other memory configurations (and Pi5) go for much more now.

Surely there’s gotta be some narrow frequency band that disrupts it from working, right? I’m getting really tired of all the cameras and ALPRs around us.

The flagship Pi boards are also hitting the thermal design ceiling of what makes sense for this size or platform. Pi 5 is IMO already on that edge because it pretty much needs active cooling and a dedicated power supply. Going past this point means it will compete with much more powerful platforms and likely loose due to it’s architectural limitations.

New comment by 404mm in "Air France and Airbus found guilty of manslaughter over 2009 plane crash"

404mm — Sun, 24 May 2026 04:04:20 +0000

Is this the crash where the pilot failed to recognize the airspeed sensors had frozen up and he stalled the plane? I could see how this was an Air France fault since the pilot was not properly trained or experienced to fly this plane in these conditions. Not sure why Airbus is responsible.

I haven’t heard about anything like that.

But I do hear about campaigns focused on members with poor account hygiene and afaik they get their accounts terminated.

Convenience. Jellyfin is becoming better and better but still lacks proper support for certain (Apple) devices, while Plex mostly just works.

That being said, Plex apps also lack proper support for HW decoding of some 4K codecs and their AppleTV situation is just plain sad (2 years without an update, no proper HW decoding).

With the Pass being $750, I’m expecting Jellyfin to become a more popular alternative than ever. I’d personally never spend this kind of money on Plex.
