Conspiracy theories are easy. Now go prove that Apple is lying. They have so much to lose it makes no sense for them to lie.

I mean... you are substituting your family on a little screen for going out into the real world and making some new friends. I'd argue that, yes, just because you wrap it in "I love my family don't question me" it doesn't change anything.

I'll take you seriously when I see scientists and doctors masking up and taking the precautions that you COVID truthers still cling to. Go to an infectious disease conference. They don't look like people who think like you.

If you don't know where to find the checkbox to disable natural scrolling (you can ask Apple's built in search, even) I don't think anyone should be listening to your opinion on Apple.

Sure, but you are always going to get the "thing makes a strange noise but it isn't doing it now" ticket and there isn't going to be a "occasional strange noise" checklist.

Mindblowing to me that people continue to try and pin "planned obsolescence" on Apple, the manufacturer that makes infamously long lived products. You anti-Apple zealots get your talking points from 1996 Usenet posts.

You don't want a computer that does thermal throttling but also do not like it when the fans turn on?

What a great collection of incorrect right wing talking points!

Look up when benefits began to be paid. The current payments very much and by design pay for the current retirees. The idea that this is some kind of elaborate “scam” when it is one of those things that every other civilized country has figured out is hilarious. Go travel. Go talk to some retirees there. Turn off the Fox News.

This is years (decades?) old but I self hosted my email until everyone suddenly stopped accepting my mail. Has this phenomenon changed? Everyone on my domain was asking me what the hell happened why is my mail not being delivered and I had to do a panicked midnight migration to Google.

Sure they do. Cabin refits are pretty standard. A lot of the 777s flying for AA, Delta, and United were delivered with very different interior configs.

The anti-screen crowd vastly overestimates people's competence with buttons. "You can hit them without taking your eyes off the road!" Please observe the typical driver as they attempt to change their climate control settings and report back.

I remember when the whole AI craze was just getting started we were all pretty much in agreement that, of course, we would not give the things unfettered access to the Internet. That would be reckless and silly. Oh dear...
