   The race-neutral casting of Nolan’s Odyssey was inevitably deplored in some quarters. But there is nothing progressive about it. Most of the non-white actors – Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Himesh Patel, Corey Antonio Hawkins, Travis Scott – play versions of the Black best friend, whose only role in the drama is to provide aid to the white protagonist.

Can you imagine if a film adaptation of the Epic of Sundiata had white actors ? The whole western world would stop spinning.

I do not think AC preference has anything to do with political beliefs, and I despise the "us and them" tribal mentality.

Clearly it is much different than heating in winter; the latter is a matter of survival, while the former is mostly a matter of comfort.

One could indeed argue that in the precarious state we are in, expending energy for unnecessary comfort should be minimized, something that passive designs can aid.

As we also try to minimize energy expenditure of heating, through insulation and other passive means.

Due to the chaotic nature of these systems we are incapable of predicting the effect of our actions.

It could very well be that by artificially increasing cloud cover we cross a different tipping point with grave consequences (e.g. flooding, ecosystem collapse from lack of sunlight, or who knows what)

Companies that built their models on public data and illegal scraping/copyrighted works, amassing massive datasets on the most private aspects of countless individuals, and creating a huge bubble with potentially humongous implications upon implosion. Oh, and, increasing wealth concentration and inequality by an incredible amount.
