This is great, and nicely written up in the context of agentic repos etc, but presumably no-one reads the official docs, right: https://git-scm.com/docs/gitignore where the multiple ways of ignoring files are clearly stated?

It's not really a case of 'winning' though is it? There is no agreed criteria by which to judge which is going to pass muster for a majority of people (both in Socrates time and ours).

I think (?) my point was that Socrates equated Memory with Wisdom, and the invention of writing would impact Memory and thus Wisdom. I believe he was just plain wrong. Equating (manual) coding/code-review with Wisdom makes the same category error.

Very skeptical - the source material is

    studies published between 2022 and 2025 that examined the use of GenAI in relation to students

If GenAI = LLMs then ChatGPT made public release in October 2022 which gives precisely zero time to generate data on impact in students. Also

    173 records (studies) were included in the review

Really? 173 peer reviewed studies based on this niche in less than 3 years. I shudder to think the quality of those constituent studies. Not questioning the results just the means of getting them.

Not sure whether it has been updated since your comment, but the sentence now reads:

    GitHub has had 1125 incidents since March 2016. Over the last 3 months, they've averaged 24 incidents per month

edit: although they also have 1.2 days of downtime (in a day) for their 'worst days' of downtime table, which suggests some auto number crunching is not working as expected.

There is a generator at the end of my street in a shipping container sized metal box, it also has a mini office and loo, and is used by the construction workers digging holes in the road. It has company spiel written on the side, promoting the box's environmental credentials, including the punchline: 'Zero NOX when generator not in use'.

I thought the (1).2 was added so that the first modern marathon at the London Olympics (1908) could finish in front of the King? Before that the 'marathon' was 25 miles. And the 300 mile round trip is at least partially replicated in the modern Spartathlon [1]
