That might not quite fit my use case. My AI-generated scripts probably won't modify system-level configuration files to change the port range

Sometimes I have scripts that automatically assign ports starting from 30000. How would that work? Would I have to bind to port 0 multiple times until I randomly get a port in that range?

My biggest concern is having only one DevOps person. What happens if you get sick or are unavailable? You still need someone with around 5 years of DevOps experience. Being understaffed at critical moments can easily lead to losing customers.
Also, how many employees and customers do you have? Do major clients, such as corporations or banks, require security certifications or specific processes?
I think customers need to feel they can trust a company that is large enough and capable of taking responsibility, rather than a one-person company.

That makes sense. That might explain why ZeroTier is sometimes unstable for me. It seems to create virtual MAC addresses, which may cause network connectivity issues. I think I might switch to Tailscale, hopefully it will be more stable

I've already installed WireGuard, ZeroTier, and OpenVPN. What's the difference between Tailscale and these other tools?

Disclosure: I build Keenrig, a self-hosted app platform, and I'm considering packaging Stalwart. For people running it: what should a one-click install get right (auto-DNS, cert handling, backups of the data dir) so it doesn't feel worse than a manual setup

I also want to set up a mail server, but when setting it up, I heard that it needs to be authenticated so the mail doesn't go to spam and can be used as a service

I've been using Contabo, and so far, the service has been quite stable and professional. Updates are handled automatically, and I haven't encountered any major issues
DigitalOcean seems a bit slower and more expensive in comparison, especially when Contabo offers a VPS with 4 CPU and 8 GB of RAM for just 4.50 euro/month.

This is usefull, many thanks! Im building Keenrig, a self-shoting opensource app that gives users subdomains for their app, and your comment made me take another look at this.
because some cookie issue . I'm moving user apps off my main domain (keenrig.com) onto a separate one - keenrig.app. the main reason is isolation: an app on a user subdomain shouldn't be able to set cookies for my console, or for other user'apps. many thanks
