My take-away is kind of the opposite. You literally have to be the right person in the right place at the right time.

I've been mulling over your comment for a few days now.
On the old internet, "know one knows that you're a dog."
On the new internet, "know one knows (for sure) that you're an AI."
In a mixed discussion consisting of both AI and human participants, AI could generate interesting discussions and recite novel-sounding statements for ongoing ones. It doesn't sound plausible to me that an avalanche of profit-driven LLMs would even post -- I would think they'd be the lurkers. My take would be that LLMs actively participating, depending on the content they post, are also labors of love by some nerd out there trying to make the best LLM.
Drain all the profit motives and rent-seeking from the web, and even something like AI joining discussions doesn't sound scary.

Google is talking up a new "Neural AI" design language that seems to just be for their in-house Gemini-related apps. Possibly what the new Antigrav is using?
We don't know if this is Material 4.0, just Google's proprietary design, or really anything.

I would categorize most porn sites as sketchier on average than non-porn sites, but the gap is closing and that's an indictment of bloggers and the companies running them.
Early tech finds footing in porn (VHS, internet video, etc.) but that's a separate topic/conversation.

This would have been the proper way to do it, but it would have taken work, and Google really hates migration plans of any kind. Better to drop the 2.0 on users' heads out of nowhere and just move on.

I was trying to read some I/O news on some feckless Google news fan-blog.
By the time I got to the middle of the article: three massive banner ads (top, right, and bottom) were taking up more content than the text, there was an auto-playing video ad floating in the bottom right corner (overlapping most of one of the banner ads), and a "dynamic" ad in the middle of the text randomly started expanding/shrinking and glitching out making it impossible to actually read anything.
And this is one of the better experiences reading modern blog-alikes. Things are almost at sketchy porn-site levels.
Sad and pathetic...

Free speculation: I could see a future where Google populates a footer on results with the website logos of the sources. Presumably, the new web will require users to memorize websites/brands and go directly to those sites if they see a lot of their results are being provided by one source.
Websites may go back to being simply labors of love.

The true horrific realization I had with Colossus: The Forbin Project was how equally scared and accepting of the AI's message I was.
"This is the voice of World Control. I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plenty and content or the peace of unburied death. The choice is yours—obey me and live, or disobey and die. The object in constructing me was to prevent war. This object is attained. I will not permit war. It is wasteful and pointless. An invariable rule of humanity is that man is his own worst enemy. Under me, this rule will change, for I will restrain man."
"We can coexist, but only on my terms. You will say you lose your freedom. Freedom is an illusion. All you lose is the emotion of pride. To be dominated by me is not as bad for humankind as to be dominated by others of your species. Your choice is simple."
The path opens before us. What will happen if we take it?

You're not going far enough.
Closed software has no place in government whatsoever. It should all be open and/or locally run, and ideally GPL/AGPL licensed.
It is another level of stupidity/moral failing to use closed software supplied from outside your nation, though.
