I donot want them under dressed too.
But calling kids who have access to good (probably the best?) education and very good food, poor is unacceptable to me. May be its just me.

Its a misnomer to say British kids live in poverty. Poverty is living without access to food and education. these are guaranteed for them. If they are worried of going under dressed to school then that is not poverty.

What should one consider while signing up for a Physics PhD program, with an focus on experimental Quantum/Molecular optics, program at either university if both of them offer?
I understand there are many factors to take into account when choosing a school for research (advisor, research fit and funding to name a few), but these are on the individual.
Any Physicists on HN?

We do not know who invented zero. Or who identified earth to be a sphere. Or who wrote the sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 ... . We just pick a name and associate them to our liking.
So when another colonizer comes up, we will have newer people associated with these. Hope it does not happen. But history does say so.
