"Not everything moved. Cloudflare is a US company, I still use it, and I’m at peace with that."
I am not. THe cancer of the Internet. Sometimes Cloudflare does not work abroad. It is annoying.
"Here’s the reasoning: Cloudflare sits in front of my public-facing websites. Its job is to cache, protect against DDoS attacks,"
If your host has no protection against DDoS then find a better host.
You can find very cheap CDN, if you really need them. Likely you dont.
As a word of caution, Cloudflare can have a devastating effect on SEO if you are not a paying customer and serve your stuff from your own URL. Cloudflare allows this only for paid accounts.

Why the downvote?
You can fly to the EU for 600 USD (retour), more in high season. Non business people are willing to spend 1200, 1400 USD. I assume around 2000 USD the demand will fall off significantly. At 5000 USD for economy it will be close to zero.

After a terrible, possibly criminal experience with a hoster, I ended up with: https://www.interserver.net/
I am very happy. The speed is insane. I always thought and was told that WP is the reason for a slow website. No, it was my host. I pay around 10 USD per month but I think the smaller plans starts lower.
For what it's worth, I am very happy with them. But I only host a few WP and FreshRSS. I think they support python too but for Django I use: https://www.pythonanywhere.com/ I pay 5 USD a month there but I think this plan is not sold anymore.
