The article comes to a completely incorrect conclusion by fundamentally misunderstanding what moves prices. The price of Bitcoin declines in USD terms when there is more net selling of Bitcoin than buying. If Bitcoin is sold by "crypto bros", only then do they have cash to "[push] up the price of items in short supply, like houses, and tickets to big-name concerts and major sports events". If you wanted the price of other scarce assets to decline, you would hope that more capital flows into Bitcoin or Crypto or something else that you don't care about.

> So when I ask them to code switch further into the recesses of linguistic history to read Shakespeare, the struggle is real.
Reading difficult texts is how you get better at reading?? If students are not struggling at all they are not learning. But the author seems more interested in validating students identities or whatever than actually helping them learn.

Echo chambers and media bias are a universal problem; it certainly doesn't only affect tech billionaires. Maybe we expect "elites" to be less biased and consume information in a more intelligent way than the general public? TBH Silicon Valley still leans overwhelmingly left of center, and the individuals the author mentions are able to draw so much attention because they are an exception to the historic ideology of Silicon Valley.

We're not talking about the NSA here. We're talking about copyright trolls trying to pick up low-hanging fruit with a dragnet of lawsuit threats. If they can't pick up your information from subpoenaing the ISP that manages the offending IP, then I doubt they'd go to further effort to hunt you down.
