> Our developers managed to run around 750MB per website open once.
This breaks my brain..."run around 750MB" "per website" "open once".
Do you mean your company had several websites (as in unique websites), and each had 750MB? Or the transferred data volume of each was 750MB? Or just the first page? Or the source code?
And do you mean "open once", as in "once upon a time", or if you open the website one time? Or did your developers open and shut websites, and the open ones had 750MB? Or one time when you entered your developer's office space, you saw they had opened several websites on their computers, random ones, and by coincidence you saw the network tabs and each was 750MB data transferred?

Yes and the comments in this thread don’t give me much hope that we will ever progress from the SPA mess to the idea that „simple is best“. Developers love to overengineer.

The way to absolute dominance of WhatsApp with the Normies has't been sufficiently analyzed, I reckon.
Somehow, WhatsApp managed to become extremely popular and heavily used by people who have trouble switching on a desktop pc. Even senior citizens have no trouble using it.
Is it because they have a high motivation to use it? The UI / UX of WhatsApp surely isn't great, I'd even say it's quite bad. Where am I wrong? What am I not seeing?

This touches on the actual reason, IMHO. A significant number of HN users is obviously leaning towards supporting the cult, and of course do the part which cult members are supposed to do - scour the internet for inconvenient speech and then downvote, barricade, and whine.

Do you have anything to back up this claim? Because it only crashes in Ghostty, and no other terminal emu I tried it in.
Anyway, not my problem, I will just wait until it's fixed and if not, then I'll use one of the gazillion other ones that work 100%.

Unfortunately, launching a fancy TUI like lazydocker inside a fresh install of Ghostty will make the TUI exit with an error, when the same TUI runs just fine on iTerm, alacritty, etc.

Love this in theory but the first time user experience could be improved:
$ brew install ghostty
Launch it, don't configure anything, in the new terminal window then enter:
$ lazydocker
Response:
