having all your financial data in a personal spreadsheet sounds pretty useful. Most finance apps in the market use dashboards and subscription model, so being able to export everything is a nice feature. Curious how well the bank sync works if you are extracting data from multiple accounts.

When i initially started my startup, i was just using a spreadsheet as it is free, simple to use and easy to update but as we got more employees, fundraising opportunities i have tried my luck with few cap table tools, i am using Eqvista from a couple years, other great tools in the market are Carta and Cake Equity but they can be quite expensive.

What's interesting here is that the problem isn't just the amount of debt due but whether these companies will still have the same business value when they need to refinance. A lot of private equity backed companies were acquired when SaaS companies had a stable revenue, high valuations and relatively cheap debts. the market looks quite different now, specially with AI changing the competitive landscape. I think extending loan maturities can buy these companies some time but it doesn't fix the actual underlying issues or make the debt easier to repay. It will be interesting to see how they will change things around by 2028-29.
