Great work!
I built a browser tool for querying local Parquet, CSV, JSON, Excel, Arrow, Avro, DBF, and SQLite files with DuckDB-WASM.
Most probably after DuckDB v2.0 release I will revamp my tool as well.

Fake Googlebot visits are #1 in website logs I've been working on. At the beginning I was fighting with them using Cloudflare ASN block rules or their managed Bot Fight mode but it appeared to be not only pointless, but also harmful for my websites.
Bot Fight mode randomly started blocking real Bing / Google / OpenAI crawlers what wasted crawling budget and discouraged crawlers to revisit updated pages.
Sometimes it's better to not fight with bots actively but harden environment and only react for the worst offenders.

Hi HN,
I'm a solo dev with 13 years of WordPress / WooCommerce experience, with a strong focus on performance (Core Web Vitals). Since early 2025, I've been implementing almost everything with AI but the vision and decisions are mine. Also, I always review the code, not only to ensure its logic is correct but often I learn something new too.
For the last 3 months I've been working on CapyToolkit - a website with browser tools that run locally, without account needed, and with a strong focus on privacy. A few tools I think are worth highlighting: hardware diagnostics like gamepad drift, input lag and MIDI tester, a SQL Workbench that runs DuckDB on WASM which can be used to preview and query less popular but important DB formats. PII and EXIF scrubbers, offline OCR and redactor, and a WebRTC P2P Tester with no relay. Most tools never touch a server and don't need connection once cached. The few that do use custom Cloudflare workers only where it's required for tool functionality like IndexNow Submitter, or Cert Inspector fetching a cert from URL feature. Website is built with Astro, installable as PWA or via Microsoft Store.
Privacy-wise the only analytics is PostHog, proxied through subdomain. Tool areas and forms are excluded from all tracking, heatmaps or session recordings. PostHog became my choice because it allows me to fully control what I track, and respect users privacy in line with my and website mission.
Please, feel free to test it and drop a feedback, or even request a tool you would like to use there! I would be happy to implement something for you.

Fully supporting privacy-first approach in utilities like yours. TBH I built an internal tool like this for the company I was working on my previous contract.
It would be great if you add a possibility to change the drawing or font color. Even few presets would be enough.
P.S. Just noticed. You have GA tracking implemented. It doesn't guarantee privacy so I would recommend changing it to PostHog and excluding area from every tracking and sessions recording.

I really like that you implemented multiple modes and additional views for some file types. Only noticed that in XLSX "tab", switching to the PDF occasionally fails to generate PDF preview - worker reliability issue. You may think of adding some caching based on files checksum, even free Cloudflare plan R2 storage would be enough.
