New comment by Clent in "ADHD, autism or complex trauma? [pdf]"

Clent — Sat, 03 Oct 2026 19:16:37 +0000

I would argue the relationship is in the other direction. People with ADHD often have childhood trauma caused by the way others treated their ADHD symptoms in childhood.

I would assume they do not use every enrolled home's 36 allotment on the same 36 days.

New comment by Clent in "California is chasing wealth that has feet"

The famine is unrelated to the land distribution but also the farm land distribution didn't last. They changed course and put the land into collectives and it is still in collectives today so the famine cannot be blamed on collectives.

My understanding is the famine was essentially the middle managers of these collectives over stating yields and being too afraid to admit their lies. To maintain the lie, they shipped off food while the farmers starved.

This isn't remotely true. Steel is absolutely still allowed. The steel toe is designed to collapse without crushing the toe. When that happens, the boot needs to be replaced.

There are composites which are fiber based but those aren't labelled as steel toes, they aren't designed to shatter and it's not plastic.

Except the comparison is between the non-playable character and the playable character. Neither can just move to a different game.

If creating research data means one is performing science, the word means nothing.

New comment by Clent in "LLMs Are Closer to Religion Than They Appear"

Clent — Mon, 01 Jun 2026 12:54:48 +0000

If there are enough people who want a Christian LLM, why hasn't one been made one?

There are regulatory rules on when disclosure must occur. They're saying they're not going to bother if it's not required.

New comment by Clent in "HP trialed mandatory 15-minute support call wait times (2025)"

Clent — Fri, 20 Mar 2026 15:40:42 +0000

Isn't that the opposite though? Having a store for the customer to get face-to-face support is sometimes necessary even those who prefer it all to be online. It acts as a stop gap to people otherwise low support customers.

The newer upstarts you mention are self selecting for customers who would do everything they can to never make a support call. They are just another form of having a 15 minute wait time because online only is it's own customer service barrier.

New comment by Clent in "After outages, Amazon to make senior engineers sign off on AI-assisted changes"

Who is the media you're accusing here? This is a twitter post. As far as I can tell they do not work a media company.

What is worth being pointed out is how quickly people blame "The Media" for how people use, consume and spread information on social networks.

No, it's pointless to complain about the existence of a backdoor, locked or unlocked because there is a front door that is not being locked.

New comment by Clent in "Why didn't AI “join the workforce” in 2025?"

Clent — Tue, 06 Jan 2026 04:59:56 +0000

Seems like a good test to see if the person who is ask should be fired. It's a test that clearly proves they are not a team player.

New comment by Clent in "RAM is so expensive, Samsung won't even sell it to Samsung"

Clent — Thu, 04 Dec 2025 14:33:07 +0000

This is a crazy out of touch perspective.

Depending on salary, 2 magnitudes at $5k is $500k.

That amount of money for the vast majority of humans across the planet is unfathomable.

No one is worried about if the top 5% can afford DRAM. Literally zero people.

They still aren't learning. You're learning and then telling them to incorporate your learnings. They aren't able to remember this so you need to remind them each day.

That sounds a lot like '50 First Dates' but for programming.

New comment by Clent in "Rebecca Heineman has died"

Clent — Tue, 18 Nov 2025 14:15:24 +0000

This implies the US is subsidizing the world's healthcare system and sacrificing it's own citizens for the benefit of every non-American.

You're ok with that?

Apple also supports select state drivers license.

I would definitely expect Google to follow quickly.
