I'm aware of cases like this that happened a long time ago. Domestic abusers who got put away on drug charges because it was easier than the alternatives. I still think this pardon is an overall good thing.

This is some ways like Youtube and adblock. Apple is completely within their right to try to kick Beeper to the curb but I also enjoy watching a scrappy company like Beeper try to circumvent Apple's attempts to shut them out.

Because of how likely it is to be killed though I don't think I shall be adopting it personally.

Never did I claim to represent everyone who has had atrocities happen to them. I'm just giving a data point that not everyone who has had someone murdered recoils in disgust at the sight of the word. Taste is a matter of opinion. The person I replied to happens to think that ANAL and LUBE are perfectly fine as they thematically match the name Love2D. You think it's tasteless. All valid opinions.

Proving or disproving a claim is the purpose of a study. At this point, it's out of the researchers hands and up to other research teams to replicate the research and confirm or deny the results.

Romero seems like a guy who has a ton of fantastical designs that needs a more conservative designer to help trim them down and bring them into reality. For id Software, that was Tom Hall.

Nobody is googling "Murder" looking for a game engine and being disappointed that they can't find it. If you search "Murder Engine" this is the first thing that pops up.

I have an immediate family member that was brutally murdered. I also have no problem with the name of the engine. Of the things to take issue with, this seems silly. You would hate LOVE2D which has libraries famously named ANAL and LUBE.

I will never understand the cult of personality that appears around people like Altman, Musk, or whoever the unicorn CEO of the month is. They are always, without exception, smooth talking psychopaths. That might as well be the job description of being a CEO of a company startup with this kind of growth.
