Agreed on the second part, it's pretty terrible. Just absolutely wasteful, and the proposed centralization of research funding is the wrong direction.

Disagree on the first. It wasn't as crude, but the politicization was absolutely there.

Please don't take this as a defense of the Trump administration pulling these ocean sensors, but the previous administration also had political demands on grants. What lies have you seen? ChatGPT is the most censored one, but I’ve only seen rejections, not lies.

My other complaint is that ChatGPT ends every response with a teaser to ask more questions.

The IRS used to have a much worse reputation. Congress passed the Internal Revenue Service Restructuring and Reform Act of 1998 and improved their customer service.
