I can buy 3rd party: RAM, SSD, WI-FI,random Expansion cards from the marketplace. I can open and clean and change thermal paste, etc. I've heard the display can be bought from alibaba, etc.

I can't even open my Mac.

All of that plus all the privacy and user data stuff that as an app developer I may chose not to deal with.

"I am not touching your data, you are using OpenRouter and whatever provider, I am getting a small cut from your usage."

Not sure why this does not exist yet.

If someone from Stripe / OpenRouter is listening, please let me provide Open Router OAuth to my users and let me take a cut of their usage. Apple takes 30, I would take whatever the users are willing to pay. 5 to 15 is reasonable.

There are two things here:

Allowing Siri competitors. EU is 100% right to demand from Apple to give the same data that Siri has to any other app (competitor) that the user chooses to install, trusts and has granted access. The grant should be the gate keeper, not Apple.

User privacy, data retention, pii, etc - I am not 100% sure here - if you send user data somewhere to a LLM, it gets very complicated, very fast, and probably the rules should be revisited / simplified / relaxed.

I've used Windows since 3.11 and I am using macOS for 5+ years now for work (requirement).

Switched to Linux on my personal devices 2 years ago and using Ubuntu and PopOS! on two different laptops. I've had very small number of issues. Can't understand people moving to Mac - it is the same messed half backed OS as both Windows and Linux (flavors). With the llms these days, any linux issue is fixable within minutes.

With Linux at least I don't have to worry about privacy.

With OpenClaw we are seeing how the app layer becomes as important as the model layer.

You can switch models multiple times (online/proprietary, open weight, local), but you have one UI : OpenClaw.

This does not happen almost anywhere else - car theft. This is UK issue with local law enforcement / insurance companies.

Phones - just fix your streets, elect politicians that are tough on crime. Simple.
