There's something a bit weird about OSM. We have the infrastructure and the idea to have a wikipedia-like map. It's insanely cool. But it's super hard to make any edit except through StreetComplete and people get asked the type of bushes they see in their street. I think the biggest priority would be to map all stores, their type and their opening hours. Right now there's nothing more reliable than Google Maps for this which forces people to use the Google Places API if they want a reliable product. I think we should have an app somewhere that is more user-friendly and focused on what most people need from a business perspective.

I don't understand how absolutely basic things are not possible on Mac OS. Switching between two windows easily, displaying hidden files in the finder... These things would be way easier to solve than building the next generation hardware.

Why do they focus so much on hardware when their biggest problem is software? I don't get it. My Dell XPS 13 is probably not that powerful in terms of performance but Linux is so much more productive. This drives me crazy

I personally avoid Go because if the if err != nil But I love the fact they have no exceptions. Rust handles this very well but it's way more complicated in general. I feel like we miss a middle ground. Maybe when Gleam becomes really popular, it could be the one?

I doubt any vendor would apply this. It's not in their interest. Maybe a better solution would be to have a package that's always updated and provides a list of injected env vars for each vendor. One line in zshrc or bash and you're covered (at least for those who offer a way to disable the telemetry through an env var).
