How about we compete instead? It’s likely that for them it’s going to be cheaper to manufacture in some Europeans countries than in China soon enough.

It’s appalling. And suggesting we will fix things by banning stuff in my opinion is just delaying the inevitable anyway. They are making better vehicles at better prices.

At the level Apple does, I mean broadly and their peers, there is not an European company at those levels.

But read the article, the EU wants even tighter integration for third parties, so it’s not exactly like Google is out of the woods regarding the DMA and this.

It would be nice if Europe had companies innovating at this level but it’s not happening. If you make a list of tentative companies that would integrate their stuff to the OS like Siri it’s very likely all those are major US companies, so I don’t even know at this point what the EU is trying to defend here.

All I know is we are buying the same devices designed by the US but keep increasing the list of features we can’t enjoy.

This is spot on. I consider myself an outlier, but only since not long ago. I’ve been using a credit card for everything but only because it gets me points I can exchange for miles on some airlines or exchange for gift cards.

I wish the “old school” banks here were more competitive in this regard.
