An assignment that I had that they always seemed to enjoy was picking a stadium scoreboard (I initially forced Fenway park but loosened it up in later years) and recreating it responsively exclusively in html markup and hand coded CSS (JS only allowed to pass arrays). Had to go through all 3 major media queries.

That assignment was in week 4 out of 15. 95% of the kids came in with no CSS knowledge at that time.

If you learned CSS through the aforementioned frameworks that abstract it into a mishmash of barely recognizable selector abbreviations I totally understand why you would think that it was complex and unapproachable. But once you understand positioning and the box model selector by selector sky's the limit.

Blame bootstrap for the nature of today's HEADER ROW BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK ROW BLOCK BLOCK ROW state of web design. CSS has very little to do with that.

You've picked one hell of a time to enter the K12 market. 1:1 device backlash, AI tool scrutiny hightening, teacher exhaustion, no recovery in sight for the recent funding cliff.

Your pilot model is the way to go. My favorite tools all grew out of that model. Stay patient, listen to the early users, encourage them to spread the word. Dont' be above grinding it out at a table at some of the smaller regional educaitonal confreneces.

Sounds like you're already doing this but take IXL head on. They are ripe for the picking.

It's been considered by all measures a flop. (I have one and love it).

Snapchat has a 2nd rate social media platform after a new audience, they already failed with hardware once, they lost all momentrum relative to their geo spatial ad filters and Lens make app (blew up during COVID).

I dont know convinces anyone that they are due for an Apple like moment in AR at $2k+ per glasses.

This is why VCs/PEs tend to not like founders.

I look forward to tinkering and tweaking my home lab but I barely remember my interactions with Mac OS. I like it that way.

It surely beats tinkering with my life.

I couldln't imagine having the time to set it up as a daily driver that handles my daily workflows, hardware needs, etc. Terminal in OS X is a close enough approximation out of the box and goes beyond it in DX (IMO) with very little additional setup.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion.

Opus seems to be overly eager of late to 'vibe' out entire solutions and build out things that you didn't ask for.

/goals is helping set the narrative that does it really matter if Sonnet and 3 Haiku agents got you to that end state...eventually...if its what you asked for?

For better or worse Opus is already handing off 80% of its work to background agents of Sonnet, Haiku, and likely a quantized Opus.
