> It's not the developer's convenience. It's the readers.
The marketing folks and copywriters are being paid to post, and they have a manager and boss to report to - which can fire them.
I guess it's very much about convenience and ease of use to people writing the posts

> a form handler for static websites available under the AGP
Marketing and copywriting people don't know any of those licenses. And I guess not ironically, first search result for me for AGPL was "Understanding the AGPL: The Most Misunderstood License". So this already makes it kind of a no-go. If I'm in a rush to add a form, I need a simple answer: can I use for business purposes and do I have to pay for it?

> and costs literally nothing to host
Costs nothing to host, but then you need to train every user, which demands time, will make productivity go down every time there's a new user. VS wordpress, which any copywriter or marketer already knows how to write on, or will learn in just a few minutes because creating a post there and clicking 'publish' is easy

This is what drove me away from static sites. It's actually more work because you have to be the one to do all the stuff.
Sure, there are a few options for hosting and generating the build, but when I tried, they were not that good, or had some issues, etc... Meanwhile, wordpress.com never disappointed, and has an app for iOS and Android that you can use to update stuff whenever you are - as long as you have internet, of course.
That's why nowadays I use Obsidian Publish. Of course, I could use Quartz or some other alternative for building a site from my obsidian vault but... none will just work out of the box, from your phone

My main reason to use this would be to maybe have an easier time adding a login when I'm on mobile - hopefully Apple would make it as easy as with bitwarden's desktop browser extension where you can just click 'save' or 'update' after logging in
My main reason not to use it is because I guess not going to work as well with firefox desktop?
