I was in highschool when I first heard it too - class of 2000. I loved the song and Kurt Vonnegut. I have even played it for some friends within the last year.

I had absolutely no idea about the true origin until today.

I really like how the documentation also includes a huge amount of user contributed notes that demonstrate various alternate examples as pointing out certain caveats/nuances.

My first thought (influenced heavily by Hollywood) was that it was some kind of assassin or other criminal service. You call in, give the correct pass phrase and someone tells you where to get your vacuum repaired locally (if you know what I mean).

I was at a friends place in a nearby town and got an order from Fry's (grocery store) where the guy charged me for 5 things he didn't deliver (about $30). I made a complaint (1* review, support ticket) and changed his tip to $0.01 because I couldn't set it to 0.

The next day I had 6 charges from 2 Fry's in the area of where I was the day before, totalling about $550 at stores I had never been to (and did not appear as instacart charges like they normally would). My bank gave me a fraud warning when they tried to use an atm. I still had the card in my possession. I reported it to Instacart and never got a response. My bank was able to reverse the charges as fraud though, fortunately.

So I don't know how, but at least 1 rogue instacart delivery people was able to get my atm card information and misuse it. If not, the coincidence that accounts for all the evidence is astronomical.

The post said they had an enterprise account, which I assume could limit access via separate logins, but many of the users were sharing the same single set of credentials (e.g. everyone logging in with the same account), so there was no real access control or knowledge of who all had access using that account.

Dropbox is essentially just a cloud synced folder. Anyone who had the shared login credentials had access to the entire production server and fragments of it could be left on any computers that were synced to it. Anyone could also delete or modify anything and it would propagate the changes to everyone else's copies with very little logging or version control. You can restore a previous version of the file, but it isn't like git or anything... just more like recently saved versions.

I am using actually using Netlify now for a few apps, though they still connect to a single Laravel backend on DigitalOcean at this point.

On my new Samsung tv, the Netflix app also has a SUPER annoying auto play trailer feature THAT YOU CANNOT DISABLE. I am just trying to scroll through the list and literally everything I stop on immediately starts playing audio/video content. Absolutely horrible design that has greatly diminished my experience to the point where I almost don't want to use it anymore. The only way I've managed to cope is to keep the TV muted until I actually select something and try to avoid looking at the video preview that often contains spoilers.

The extra bounciness of the animation can be a bit distracting after a while too. Maybe have options for different animation styles (fade/none)? Also maybe positioning options for placing the text elsewhere (like top right middle).
