It's surprising how far Brazil has come in terms of financial transactions. Truly something amazing.

It's also unsurprising to see outlets like The Economist somewhat criticise this, along with fintech corporations, because the government is offering a free and high quality alternative to something that companies would have done exactly the same but for money.

I'd rather not play stupid games for barely a prize worth it. With other words, I don't want US immigrations officers going through my phone, seeing a Trump critical message and throwing me into a hole for two weeks. I'd rather pick safer destinations :)

Yes. As someone publicly critical of the Trump administration, I don't want my entire social media presence crawled by immigration officers, just to end up in some detention centre for weeks or months. I'd rather just stay at home or travel to safer countries like Canada or Mexico.

I have family in the US that I used to visit on a yearly basis, and as of this year I am afraid to visit them ever again. I'm an engineer with a very good income and a very stable life where I live. I would never immigrate illegally to the US to do some illegal job for scraps. And yet here we are, no one is safe. Anyone can end up in one of these hellholes.

That ban is imaginary. It never existed. Many people decided to use other terms at their free will and others didn't. Both terms can be still found in plenty of projects.
