The US is massive... riding the train between most cities is dramatically more expensive than flying and takes most of a day if not multiple days between cities.

I used to commute weekly between two cities in Texas and it was a 2 hour flight. (Houston - Lubbock)

Didn't even notice until the wifi rogue detector flagged the SSID due to it's relative strength (we're in a highly contested area for 2.4 and 5 Ghz).

No... if you want to point to the one thing that transformed computer crime, it's the "cloud" and the programming paradigms that came with it.

  * the murder is of a federal judge or a federal law enforcement official

  * the killing is of an immediate family member of a federal law enforcement official

  * the murder is of an elected or appointed federal official

  * the killing is committed during a bank robbery

  * the killing takes place aboard a ship at sea

  * the murder was designed to influence a court case

  * the killing takes place on federal property

Thank goodness for all the other layers... the firewall is just doing basic hygiene. The SASE and zero trust policies are doing the heavy lifting.

There's nothing inherently "wrong" with a P2MP topology for public infrastructure.

Cooling, on the other hand, is brutally expensive without living in basically an air tight Styrofoam box (or underground).

Same goes with the cinder block foundation. If insulated, it moves the freeze/thaw interface inside the block and then you end up with a failing foundation.
