I understand the feedback in the second paragraph, however I do not understand why we're judging projects by whether they've been AI generated or not.

Have we stopped treating software as a black box? This behavior will only lead to devs moving away from OSS to avoid the AI stigma.

Since I use multiple browsers and devices, I've been struggling with keeping up the articles I want to read. I have them scattered all around and usually forget which ones I've read, entirely or partially.

For the last couple of weeks, I've been building readmepls (https://readmepls.com) to organize my library, and on top I've been trying to build a good reading experience.

I don't know if you're based in the US, but here in Europe I used Xometry and, while expensive for what you're getting, it was pretty reasonable.

I built a cyberdeck bigger than this and the case came out to be around 30 euros.

This post was a wake up call. Last year I spent a week learning Swift the "old fashioned way" following Apple's tutorials, with not much to show for it when I was done. Even though I use AI for coding daily, since XCode doesn't natively support it, I just decided to not use it.

Seeing how far you went in just a couple of days, I realize now how much I missed out.

Ask HN: How do I improve at analysis and project management as a junior dev?

I've been working my first SWE job for a few months now, and I've just been handled my first big project.

I've done an analysis and I'm realising now, close to the deadline, that by working on each component, I miscalculated some parts or couldn't predict some needed developments at all. Even though I tried thinking about the entire flow of the feature, some things just came to mind as I was developing it.

How do I improve at predicting what will be needed, before writing a single line of code? Would building a wireframe of the entire feature help? Is it a skill that just comes with lots of trial and error?

Just like it's mentioned later in the article: it doesn't really matter if you get an addition mostly right. You either get it right or you don't. I still appreciate their effort though, because even after altering the grading system, there were still some emergent abilities.

I totally see where you’re coming from, and yes, the first few days on it were nightmarish, but I eventually got good on it. I code as fast as I do on my 65%, and not having to ever move your hands away from the main position is actually super comfortable! Chords and tap dancing definitely require a lot of muscle memory, but they are game changers.
