Try Gitlab, Bitbucket, or Codeberg.

This is probably one of the strangest project ideas I've worked on. I’m building a search engine called GronnFalk, and the inspiration for its name came from something as random as soap. A unique texture inside the soap closely resembled the shape of what would eventually become the GronnFalk logo. That small coincidence sparked the idea behind the project and marked the beginning of GronnFalk.
It started as a small experiment to see if I could actually build my own search engine. Since then, I've been working on the search page, backend, Docker support, and everything else needed to turn it into a real project.
I’m still very much learning as I go, so it definitely isn't SearXNG or Whoogle—and I'm not trying to pretend it is.
I'm mainly posting because I'm curious what other people think: what would make you actually want to use an independent search engine?
I'm especially interested in hearing what people like or dislike about existing search engines.
