We can leave at any time. The reason we can't at this point is more like what the Chinese concept, "we lose face". It is more of ego thing now. So "just leaving" isn't an option when ego priotised way higher than people needs. "government of the people, by the people, for the people", we never ask which "people"? They may have the same spelling, but I'm sure absolutely not the same group of people in that sentence.

Photocraft is near parity for day to day use. I stopped using gimp and photopea and completely migrate to photocraft. Granted I am not poweruser with tons of plugins. Simple editing and layering, masks, transparency, gif-jpg-png concersions are very doable with this. So yes, it is good enough for production use for majority of not-so-poweruser.

Slop is used nowadays purely as a jealousy and fear of unknown response. Every HN comments I read when they brought up slop negatively (I havnt encounter positive one) seems to show projections from writers' inadequacy.

If it is legit English and succint to the point, I dont mind AI or not. The moment you start labelling good and bad info as Claude or not (even if could be Deepseek or OpenAI or human that adopted AI way of writing) you ended up stopping yourself growth on genuine good info. Is like seeing perfect numerical operations and claim you use calculator didnt you.

You feel that way is because unhappy that AI able to do something very similar to what you can do at a fraction of effort. I have read many text by human and AI, and many time AI is superior in description though more verbose. Human writing are very creative and terse if well written. But for huge outputs of comparisons, human writing is overrated. Majority quality is nowhere near a sloppy AI level. Judge it objectively not a pre-built bias saying every AI output is bad

It was red herring. None of the villains on those planes are Afghanis or even Taleban. And the entire 20 years saga fighting there not even against the OBL but more of Taleban and bringing freedom that supposely Brits and Soviet cant. OBL troops morphed into Syria where infamously Obama crossed it with his "red lines" without boots on the ground but tons of CIAs operatives running around. We now know it has nothing to do with 911 but more of diverting the "real villains" attention far away in neighboring countries. But at least we bring freedom right? Unfortunately the Kabul government didnt even last 24 hours after we left in the most humiliating way possible. We surely made Soviet look incredibly powerful and foresighted. Their version of Afghan government lasted AFTER Soviet collapsed on budget while we burnt 10T. And then just like Pikachu surprised, China overtook USA as world most powerful country with weapon that we failed (railgun), own space station, robots, drones, rare earth, and even mbridge currency. Meanwhile we got the stable genius with flappy bird planes. And if you do OSINT way way more than 4.5K American KIA there. Way more. But hey, we cant even audit our Pentagon but we can trust-me-bro those number right?

Having one more dating app not going to assist in their failing TFR. Doing something radical like allowing multiple wives, heavy singles or no child taxations would work way more effectively than this dating app. Whether acceptable to people these draconian methods, that is for another day. But the app is pure waste of taxpayers burden.

You meant the other neighbour across the pacific? 150 F35 not going to do much really. You do know the incident over Iran with F35 and many others across Taiwan straits. China hasnt even flex their wartime muscle and already millions of drones a year production which each can be more effective and cheaper than the one used by Iranian. Plus you know America carrier fleet no longer near that region.

Wouldn't it be easier to patch gnu c compiler that compiles the kernel? That way anyone compiling kernels will auto include the enhancement by default across all OS, unix or linux.
