Mostly using GLM/zai and pi agent these days. GLM also allows hermes on their subscription which is very useful.

If I do need Opus/whatever to look at a specific issue I just use openrouter API.

Can't say I particularly care for the US providers walled garden ToS restricted handholding suprise fallback nonsense even if their models are the strongest. Most of my tasks work just fine with lagging behind absolute SOTA so don't feel the need to tolerate it.

Toyed around with it back when claude code showed up, but never really got any useful actionable insights from it so stopped

(Aside from ditching CC & it's bloated sys prompts that is)

Short of sanctioned jurisdictions pretty much anything can get purchased. You just get a local corporate lawyer to help straighten things out

Think the era of respecting stuff like robots.txt is over.

I build a web-fetch tool for my own LLMs that is essentially the same tech as web-scraping except its single requests not high volume.

You can't really get anywhere these days without disguising UA etc.

I'd say it's more like a global broad push to kill privacy than encryption specifically. Encryption is a big part of it, but not the whole picture

* Flock monitoring

* Border device searches

* Age controls and the implied "hand over real ID"

* Push for backdoors

* Palantir & DOGE grabbing data

* Move towards cloud (and less ability to afford own hardware)

* Secure boot style attestation

* Cross device tracking

* CF and friends acting as internet police

* GrapheneOS troubles

* Independent sites dying & more focus on walled gardens

...some of those aren't necessarily intentional (e.g. price of hardware), but it's hard not to read this as a larger agenda of sorts. Or maybe I'm just paranoid haha

I have a searxng instances but stopped using it after doing a comparison vs actual search provider APIs.

searxng gets rate limited fast and the results are inconsistent depending on what providers it can reach at any given time / isn't captcha'd out.

Meanwhile there are multiple providers with generous free tiers so no point in feeding LLMs inferior data

Also did a couple of side by side tests asking LLMs directly which feed results it prefer for some sample technical searches. Exa and tavily #1, brave #2, searx last

I ended up building an MCP that pulls results from multiple places and dedups it.

The free tiers on most are generous enough for normal agent MCP usage

Also...pretty sure decodo just launched a search thingie

The more likely explanation is everyone reckons the AI bubble is about to pop and is suddenly very interested in assets known to hold their value in times of turmoil

If you print you cause more inflation and all the debt you need to renew requires higher yield to shift. So in practice printing yourself out of trouble is in itself a cause of trouble

I don't buy that AI is at saturation. From the usage the labs have internally its clear that when cost isn't a constraint they launch 10k agents. I don't see why other companies wouldn't want to do the same
