Having made training videos, doing a voice recording is a huge pain in the ass. So easy to flub and have to edit or re-record. Hard to maintain even pace. I haven't tried AI generated voices, but doing it manually is difficult.

I console myself that this is why I never got fabulously wealthy. That brilliance is no guarantee of wealth. You need luck, too.

But the truth is, you also need to do the work. I used my conclusion about luck as an excuse to not even try. Not even in some grand way. Just in the grinding everyday way. In the way of, "You know what I should do?! I should ... meh. That'll never work."

Take it from me, kids. If you want to do something great, do it while you are still young enough to believe it's possible.

In all cases where I was presented with an unreasonable non-compete, I either negotiated it away or scratched it out before signing. I know not everyone has that luxury, but if your BATNA is signing, it's worth a shot.

Do you really not understand the difference between the one you cited and the one to which I was responding?

The one to which I was responding was capricious. The one you cited has reasoning, even if you disagree with it.

And that was the whole point of my comment. That by reducing the other side to a farcical strawman, you diminish your own argument. It just becomes a yelling match.

I would rather debate the person you cited than sit complacently with the cynic to whom I responded.
