Laser weapons are the answer to this, and they’ve been around for a long time. The first drone shot down by a laser weapon happened in 1973! We have the technology. There just hasn’t really been a need to scale them until now, but they are being deployed to many ships in recent years.

There is no post-WWII goal of permanent peace. It’s a side effect of the invention of nuclear weapons, which made wars amongst powerful countries a lose-lose scenario for everyone.

Not all, but much. Years ago here on HN I said that social media is a weapon more powerful than nuclear fission and we created it and handed it to our enemies in exchange for a small group of people becoming extremely wealthy. I was promptly downvoted.

It’s the closest thing to a mind control device that’s ever been created, and sites like Reddit, Facebook, and even HN openly allow bot traffic in exchange for either dollars or a claim of “open discourse”. HN hates the solution to this problem even more than they hate the problem, so I won’t even start the debate.

The fact that he has done countless things that are harmful to the US and not a single thing that is in the country's best interests tells me all I need to know. Either he's aligned with an enemy or he just hates the country and wants to destroy it.

Bond yields go up when bonds are harder to sell. They’re harder to sell when the present more risk. The biggest risk to bond holders is inflation. So bond yields tend to go up when inflation expectations rise.

I also love them and wear an analog watch every day. Something funny I've noticed (anecdote warning) is that a lot of tech-savvy people I know wear an analog watch, and a lot of people who are not really tech savvy love to wear every digital gadget they can get their hands on, including smart watches.
