There’s a reason that songs like “fuck the police” came out of the LA area.

Decades later, and it’s only worse. This is where the “abolition” language comes from. How do you fix this? Unclear. Wholesale replacement seems tempting in the face of any direct path to reform.

A problem is that lots of lower-education math instructors don't understand these concepts deeply themselves. I think it could be okay if these things were clearly framed as "true for the problems we're looking at, but not universal", but they were typically presented as universal by teachers who themselves don't know any better, and that really caught me up too.

You're misreading. They're not being ordered to destroy crops in order to support the medical marijuana price. They're destroying crops because there was a bubble and they've created way too much supply.

Cannabis stocks were a fad for a while, and I know lots of people who invested in them blindly. The number of legal cannabis retailers is exploding. I live in a mid sized town and there are three more opening this month, and the ones I see always have customers.

The system's hardly failing, some speculators just played themselves.
