Kinda in the same vein, been reading/listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl lately. One of the main characters is a tortoise shell cat that gains sentience. One of the more fun aspects in the early books is the main character Carl dealing with that cat being loud, not aware of her surroundings, and making it difficult to sneak around an RPG style dungeon.

Also the author really gets the "tortitude" right.

These posts usually have insightful comments about the persons life that I never would have read had it not been posted here. I would have read about his death in a headline, and moved on.

But since I came into these comments I learned a lot more about him, and will probably spend the evening watching some of his history docs.

Maybe the article its self isn't gratifying, but the comments usually are.

Thank you, this is very helpful. Its a decompression algorithm with a thin CLI around it, lots of parallelization,and lots of different config options.

I've been tasked to try and learn how some very old C++ code base (30k plus lines) at my job, I've heard that its originally from the late 90s and has been updated periodically, since it preforms some very crucial processing.

The code is commented fairly well but is missing any sort of top-level architecture documentation or explanation.

I've started by just following the flow, but am getting very very lost. Are there any tips you have to help me wrap my head around this?

I wouldn't blanket all Mechanical Keyboards into this, its absolutely possible to build one that is no louder then your standard membrane keyboards.

There is something seriously wrong the with the idea that its ok to underpay these very important jobs because they can eek out a living wage by working every hour of their waking life, sacrificing mental and physical health to do so.

My town just recently put in the Diverging Diamond Intersection (or at least something very similar) on a major highway and major road interchange and the extra throughput was very noticeable.

There is a way to manually open the falcon wing doors [1]. Granted it could probably be in a more visible location.

Maybe this would be a problem sometime in the future when autonomous cars don't have manual controls anymore, but if the cameras were disabled for some reason you can just take control and drive off the dirt road your self, and head to a car wash.

I don't see this really being a problem that has to be worried about.

Its worst case is O(n^2) sure, so heap sort would be better if you know that your data would hit the worst case scenario of quick sort every time.

There's a page[1] detailing how to get get the .deb file without apt, and then use dpkg for arch [2] to install it if you wanted to. Of course you'd have to manually update, and pacman won't know about it.

Used the euterpea library in a class about computer music. Super fun, great way to learn haskell.
