It seems that many don't realize at least Samsung and LG both have an option (albeit buried deep in the menu structure) to turn off the smart TV functionality. One of the first things I did on my new set. It now powers up set to a single input and my AppleTV takes it from there.

I tried it out with docs from my last refi. Tried both PDF and PNG files, both returned "An error occurred with processing your document. Please confirm you uploaded a valid Loan Estimate or Closing Disclosure PDF."
I also at first didn't notice there is action needed to choose between uploading a Loan Estimate vs Closing Disclosure. It doesn't seem insurmountable to have the site automatically figure out the difference between those two.

What do you use for a capture device? I'm currently using a Tivo Roamio (with lifetime subscription) and love it, but it's at least 7-8 years old so thinking about what's next. Only real complaint is remote viewing needs a really solid connection and sometimes just doesn't work.
Also a regular Plex user so would like something that integrates with it to handle antenna / live recording.

#1 - Yes, much better!
For #4, I expected it work more like HN does, where it shows 30 articles but has a more button to get 31-60 and so on. At least 3 pages would be nice for those of us who keep reading past the first page.

Great idea, I would also regularly use this with a few tweaks:
1) Main one - Separate stories more clearly. Maybe slightly outdent, enlarge, or bold the title, or add a little more space between stories so they don't all run together.
2) Some articles don't have content available for no apparent reason (Deciphering Mary Stuart’s lost letters from 1578-1584)
3) Filters would be nice (articles >rating, comment count, etc)
4) Collect a few more pages of articles instead of just one

After using a 3rd gen for 8 years, I just replaced my Nest 3rd gens with Ecobee Premiums. Used to be a proud Nest user, they even shaped my choice of a new home HVAC system to be something compatible. However, they (and their software) haven't changed since I bought them, they are stuck in 2015. Meanwhile Ecobee has been producing beautiful hardware and software that has not only caught up but surpassed the 5+ year headstart that Google/Nest squandered.
Also read Build and I'm sure Tony is just sad at seeing the opportunity lost as Nest becomes a shell of itself.

Regardless of the passionate feelings against Spotify, it's hard to dispute their basic premise that Apple is deliberately creating a bad user experience just to preserve their walled content garden.
The same thing applies to not being able to buy a book using the Amazon app. It's ridiculous and there is no valid argument against it other than greed. Not a fan of overregulation, but in this area I can't wait for Apple to be reined in.

I've switched from Firefox to Edge in the past year and it's been a marked improvement. I like the cross platform compatibility and syncing works great among Mac/Windows/iOS. Edge started really poorly but has developed into a first class browser, and combining the privacy enhancements of Firefox with the performance of Chrome.
At this point, not sure why I would switch back to Firefox TBH, unless MS really screws something up. My advice would be to create a seamless cross platform browsing experience that has feature parity across all devices. Keep the privacy first strategy, and look at incorporating key add-ons (could they purchase a Bitward/1Password/LastPass?).

I read the title and had a vision of a "community" built in a mail - where you would walk out of your apartment and be able to visit your local coffee bar, diner, park, grocery store, etc all within a mall. That sounded fabulous and something I would be interested in. The article left me disappointed, not much happening along those lines.

Same story in the US. Back in the day there were multiple price engines that were super effective at finding the best price. I remember PriceGrabber and even Google Shopping being really useful.
I think the affiliate links destroyed them all, removing the incentive for them to offer the best price and instead only serve up the most profitable (to them) links.

Seems like an easy fix is to only sell prepaid burger cards. Set some number - 10x, 20x, etc. the cost of a burger.
Keeps the locals able to frequent regularly and highly discourages anyone coming just to cross it off a list.
