I’ll be honest it’s been over 10 years at this point. But we had to virtualize a dying Gateway 2000 that had Windows XP on it. As part of that we needed ISA to keep working. I found some USB ISA adapters and ordered them. It took a lot of messing around with Workstation, the host Windows 7 and drivers on the VM. I can’t remember all the details at this point :(

Can I ask why you have TV shows in the same folder? I have a /video folder and under that /tv /movies /kidsmovies /kidstv. Just kinda curious.

It’s been a broader trend of businesses downsizing the square footage when they can and when they can’t they start to mandate in office to justify the cost.

I was stating that MS Paint mis categorized a Print Screen screenshot as AI generated when pasted. Which pushed me to install PaintdotNet onto my laptop instead.

I had this trigger the other day incorrectly and went and installed Paint.net. I pasted in a screenshot I took and just wanted to resize it. I got a banner saying it was made with AI and would be updated to reflect that.

I understand where you might be coming from but: robocopy SOURCEPATH DESTPATH /mir /r:1 Is pretty easy to remember.

10 years ago we had the same form with my kid’s daycare. They kinda got pissy about it tho as they didn’t want to have to scrub photos they posted to their Facebook and insinuated that your kid may not have as much fun if they have to “separate” them when it comes to photo time.

We told em tough don’t use our kid’s photo. So even if institutions implement this kinda thing almost non want to do it.

Yeah they folded it in 30 days. It was most definitely a hiring poach thing. We ended up with Windmill.dev

Not above commenter but I have. I have done OneNote, Miro, and several other canvas style apps. And for me it still just doesn’t click in my brain like writing it down.

I miss TrueCrypts alt boot option. You enter a specific password it boots an alt OS so you could have an automatic alternative thing if under duress.

Honestly not sure. I used ghosty and others for awhile but had continuous issues of it not passing a compatible term variable so a lot of tuis would break.

Our issue was on multiple fronts. On windows it was GlobalProtect overriding dns requests. On Linux it was an issue with the OS fighting which nameservers to use. The fix was some experimental flag, tho I can’t remember it currently.

And you still have issues sometimes around dns not able to figure out which interface to use. We had issues around that before.

That’s how we handle it with ours as well. He found a way around a certain control and we opened a bug report with the vendor and it was acknowledged and fixed. He then realized he locked out other kids with that and laughed and tries to find more worth reporting.
