The barrier to entry for GPUI might be a bit high for some, but is there really any argument to be made against migrating to Tauri?

Beautifully written and while I'm not a Phish fan per se, this otherwise summarized exactly how I've been feeling this year.

Funny enough in my original comment above, I also was using a G9. This checks out

I once moved into a new apartment, built a new PC, but noticed that every 30 or so minutes while gaming my monitor would turn off. It was just frequent enough to make gaming intolerable. One day I was plugging something in and moved my DisplayPort cable slightly and my monitor turned off again. Turns out it was too close to the antennas for the WiFi card I had; it was inducing a current in the DisplayPort cable and the monitor’s firmware didn’t know what to do so it just crashed! I moved the cable slightly further away and it never happened again.

I agree the label often means different things to different people, but ultimately I’m curious to determine if my anecdotal experience of AI being used very sparingly by the top 10% of performers is characteristic of the behavior more broadly, or just an anomaly in my circles. Do you have any thoughts on this?

I’m a SWE with ~5.5 years of professional experience now and anecdotally see AI used primarily by juniors who use it as a crutch. Moreover, the vast majority of the “best” engineers I know do not use any AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Copilot). They do, however, occasionally use LLMs as a search engine for unqualified questions (I.e. where they identify that there are unknown unknowns). Is my anecdotal experience representative of reality? If not, I’d love to hear peoples’ workflows (especially the historical high performers)
