I've used a cheap 50" TV as monitor for almost a decade now and I can't complain. Sight is 20/20 at 60yo, no eye strain, no headaches, nothing. I only use it for coding (sublime) and browsing (brave), so I don't care about resolution/retina/pixels/colors/curvature/etc.

I swear to god they can transmit virtual ecstasy through their website, it's so incredibly impressive you want to buy one even if you don't need it. Everything is so perfectly presented, it has speakers! it has USB-C! WOW! No I am not being sarcastic, I am just expressing how joyful it feels watching marketing to its fullest. Just watch the videos.

Apple should be studied for centuries to come not for what they sold but for how they sold it. Pure genius. Beautiful up to every detail.

I love it for the things that I do. It's not comparable to Claude which is the top coding experience right now but for typing chunks of code, refactoring, etc is more than enough.

I don't have a full CLI agent, I just installed deepseek as a plugin in my Sublime Editor, some python code that takes the selected text or file and can do things to it on command, sometimes I just enter a prompt without selection so it can create code for me.

All in all, enough for me as a lone coder, it doesn't have continuous integration or team edition which I don't care for, and for the price (cents per month) I couldn't ask for more.

Deepseek all the way, for both chat and coding. I can't complain as their price is the less expensive of all, started with just $2, worked all February and still $1.95 left in balance

When I was a kid in the days of the discman, I came up with the idea of a cigarette-box-sized optical card reader that instead of spin the media it would scan the card and play the songs in it. I called it the "opticard" and thought that would be extremely cool to have some music cards in your pocket instead of carrying inconveniently sized CDs in your belt.

I wanted to write Sony about my idea but never got the balls. Years later they released the minidisc, still bulky, a total flop. The memory stick was a much better idea from them, I never knew why they didn't implement an iPod earlier than Apple

Things that worked for me:

- sing songs with lyrics and a dictionary at hand (listening and pronunciation)

- get a native speaker girlfriend/boyfriend (slangs and chit chat)

- practice role-playing scenarios like restaurants, movies, cabs, etc. (daily routine)

- finally, read the news and comment with your partner (conversation)

One last tip, always use wikipedia in the language you want to learn (vocabulary)
