Flock has several times went and reconnected cameras that localities have cancelled. Just because they didn't in this case doesn't mean they haven't ever done so.

It pleases me to no end that the knowledge of others and myself into the Rock Band engine helped stop the scalping of THAW with a freely accessible alternative. I helped obfuscate DaTArrest ;)

If you unplugged the freezers and fridges, and the vendors came back and plugged them back up, would you be ok with that?

Good. Generative AI has no place in any legal system, law enforcement, or government operation, anywhere.

Tuesday's game was definitely the highlight of the series in terms of good baseball. Monday's game sucked ass, and I missed the first two, but tonight was like Tuesday lite. Tuesday night was some of the best baseball I have watched. I wish Tampa Bay had won a couple of more to give us a full series, but it was clear by the 7th that this game was over.

Context: I'm an adult fan of baseball that didn't like sports at all as a kid, so I developed no team loyalty. I'm all about good, exciting baseball whoever wins.

There exist uncensored, unregulated models. Many of them are available for local use, sidestepping any third-party checks that could be present.

New comment by LocalH in "The Commodore 64 hardware simulator: break chips and pins, see the results"

Other emulators exist that do more for performance. This is more of a simulator.

I feel like that matters less the slower the simulation runs. Simulated RF interference would operate at a much slower timetable than the host system, and I don't really think the host system's RF matters so much until you're at speed parity with the original system and hoping to interface with hardware peripherals.

New comment by LocalH in "Meta’s new commercial terms will allow the scraping of news sites: experts"

LocalH — Sat, 17 Oct 2026 16:56:55 +0000

But copyright and a "copyright license" are two different things. If B doesn't have the legal right to sublicense C's IP, and Meta scrapes it anyway, then B could be liable for breach of contract, and Meta could be liable for copyright infringement

Hundreds of years ago, nothing was easy to copy, until the printing press. Early copyright surrounding that wasn’t about “IP protection” but rather who had the right to operate a printing press at all

Nobody but you mentioned “eliminating” IP rights. Stop being disingenuous
