Given that this is seemingly the thing for which he’s most known, politically, it doesn’t seem remotely unreasonable to infer that the person I was replying to was talking about it. It’s absurd to take this evasiveness as anything other than bad faith.
If the group in question were gay people, or a racial minority, would you still treat the issue this way?

…So it is about the fact that you object to his support for transgender people?
Surely you see why this is, actually, directly relevant and important context for your statement. It’s not some general political leaning you’re talking about - lumping this (prejudice against a minority group) into the same category as something like banal disagreements over taxation policy amounts to deliberately obscuring what you’re saying behind innuendo.
If you’ve got something to say about his political views in a public forum like this, at least do the people around you the courtesy of being upfront about what you’re actually saying.

> But then marcan told his supportes to fuck off unless they commit to supporting his political ideas, which I was not willing to do.
Is this about Marcan’s outspoken support for transgender people? If so, why not simply say that in your comment, rather than framing it in such vague terms?

Is this actually enough? I've never been able to find a clear answer on this - it's become increasingly common to install SATA SSDs in retro game consoles, for example, but nobody seems to have ever done any testing to see if the functionality on newer SSDs is adequate to handle systems without TRIM support.
You used to hear all kinds of horror stories about people who threw a SSD into their PS3 and found their whole system grinding to a halt within a year.

Worth nothing that J. Michael Bailey was eventually fired from his post at Northwestern for organising a spectacularly inappropriate sexual demonstration, put on in front of his students [1].
Bailey has, it must be said, worked extraordinarily hard to earn his negative reputation.
This seems to quite deliberately miss the point of why so many find the effect libadwaita has had on the desktop experience to be so frustrating.
Really, it doesn’t matter whether the underlying motivations were supposedly to create a cleaner separation between projects at the abstract level - the consequences have been to introduce a situation where, for the first time in quite a long period, large swathes of significant, widely-used programs are no longer capable of fitting in on non-GNOME desktops.
That decision was theirs to make, and they were entirely free to do so - but squirming around the point to avoid talking about responsibility for the actual consequences of the decision re further fracturing the Linux desktop ecosystem is absurd.

Honestly, from a moderation perspective, the dropoff has been stark - the quality of work behind the scenes has dropped off a cliff on most larger subreddits, and the quality of the content those subreddits facilitate has reduced in quality in turn.
It's definitely had a very impact - but since it's not one that's likely to hit the bottom line in the short term, it's not like it matters in any way beyond the user experience.

Twenty years too late for it to possibly matter, but it's still nice to see.
Interesting that there's no mention of what licence the source is being released under - and it's only available following email enquiries, of all things.
> not quite as exciting as extra CPUs
Not that it was an official licensed product, but for what it's worth, there was a DS flashcart that bundled a significantly faster CPU than the DS's own - the SuperCard DSTWO [1]. The extra CPU (Ingenic Jz4740, MIPS) was primarily used for GBA emulation on DS/DSi systems without the need for a GBA slot passthrough flashcart, as was otherwise required - though there was a quite successful homebrew scene around it at the time as well, up to and including stuff like a (proof of concept) port of a PS1 emulator [2].
It was a surprisingly impressive device! The only downsides, as I recall, were the increased battery drain and the fact that the DS Slot-1 bus was only fast enough to allow streaming video output from the cartridge to the system's displays at ~45FPS, irrespective of the rate that the emulator was actually running at internally.
[1] https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/SuperCard_DSTWO
