That's not true. Naughty dog shutdown online servers for their ps3 games in 2019:

To be fair, there are private servers for these games, thanks to reverse-engineering efforts, but those are community efforts.

Of course it's not an apple to apple comparison, the iPhone 7 from the same year was 50% more expensive and had only one third of the RAM (2 GB)
