110 is only on the top shelf, middle or lower is much cooler. For a dry sauna you really want to be well into the 100s to get a proper kick out of it.

You’ll be disappointed to learn that the deferral is 90 days from the release of the major OS version, not 90 days from when the configuration is set. There appears to be a bug in the delay logic in 15.7.3, but you really shouldn’t be running that — there are some important security fixes in 15.7.4.

It’s gone for me, and there are a lot of frustrated support threads from other Europeans so I’m not alone.

I managed to find the option on the advanced search on ebay.ie, but I still get page after page of American items as the result…

eBay used to let you filter results by region, but apparently that ruined some kind of metric and the option is gone. When buying games or books or what have you I only want sellers in the EU. I don’t care that it’s available in the US or UK, shipping and duties are going to be 4x what the product is worth.

Steve is easily the most entertaining conference speaker I’ve had the pleasure to attend in person. He was a regular at MacSysAdmin for many years, and always in the Friday afternoon slot when you need a jolt of energy. Good times.

We’ll, yes. You’re thinking of the classic RAW format that was just a plain array of RGB pixels without a header.

When talking about digital cameras RAW refers to a collection of vendor specific file formats for capturing raw sensor data, together with a bunch of metadata.

Yes all(?) modern solutions should let you transfer disks to a 1541, and it’s always fun to treat yourself to using real media. I believe the kff supports the ef3 usb transfer protocol, but you might want to double check before you buy.

That said, the U2+ really lives up to the name and really is the most featureful device - everying else is a compromise.

If you want to run demos, you need a device with (close to) 100% 1541 compatibility. The Ultimate II+ cartridge is your best bet, but it’s a bit pricey and availability is sometimes spotty. Pi1541 is a cheaper option, especially if you diy, but you’ll need a fast loader solution as well. KFF, sd2iec, and other cheap devices don’t offer hw level 1541 compatibility and can’t run demos.

But this is exactly how it works in Sublime or VS Code or what have you on the desktop. You open a project folder and then you can click any file to edit, add new files, rename them, and so on.

It's been decades since I last used a text editor where you had to open each file individually (CygnusEd!).

I was also a bit surprised to read that, since Feedback Assistant.app should be the first thing that pops up if you do a spotlight search for "feedback". The app helps a bit with collecting a sysdiagnose report and makes it easy to add screenshots.

But segmented memory isn’t a requirement, that technique works just as well with linear address space. You use a single 32-bit base pointer and then store 16-bit offsets for your data. We used that all the time on 68K and other architectures.
