I've been working on something like this for internal use for the last 2 month or so. Very high overlap, CAS, version chains, branching available in storage, but not implemented (not as high value for us), file locks, chunked storage on S3 api. Focused on assets only with more focus on build/export (think gh actions for blender files) and QA processes.
Interesting to see where this goes.

In fact why would you even clear streets if it's an organized event and most people already left due to rain.

You can cut off the jack and solder a new one. You also don't need specific cord, buy a new cord and add the jack. For non replaceable cords you can open up the headphones unsolder the old cord and solder a new one. Or you can cut the cable somewhere high and patch another cable.
If you can't do these things your self there is probably some cheap electronic repair shop nearby. Most likely cheaper than shipping new brand cable or replacement parts.
On side note plastic in one of my shure 840 joints broke and I managed to fix it by modeling and 3d printing it. They're working fine now. The only official way to fix that was to buy original head assembly and ship it, but that's almost as expensive as getting a new pair.
Repair is possible, just sometimes you need to be a bit creative.

I don't think GKE is lockin when there are other offering from other companies and the migration is quite simple. Also if at some point you feel like it's time to host your own then you can do it. Also I don't find GKE that expensive especially paired with their cheap vms or preemptive vms if you're fine with those.

Can someone explain how it is better than android? When I plug in my android, only charging works. I need to unlock the phone and enable data to make the data connection work. There is never trust this computer prompt. I have to do this always, even when due to bad wire the connection is lost for a split second.
Some people mentioned that android never shipped this feature and that Apple is first, but it seems to me that android never had this problem in the first place.

The system is feeding it self. The simpler it is the more people are reached and the less ordinary person is willing to learn and overcome problems. Slowly everything that is slightly complex becomes too much of a hassle or gets negativity.
There is a middle ground somewhere.
I suppose the gaming topic made be rant, because it seems like a lot games being made now lack substance. But there are so many more games being made and so many more players compared to 10 years ago that I'm probably biased. I still think simplicity vs function is a tough problem with short term and long term pros and cons.

Well a lot of older series haven been simplified in recent iterations. I haven't played hearts of Iron though.
It's hard to please older gamers by crating something that feels new, but not too different or simplified and at the same point appeal to the new masses of gamers.
As others fairly pointed out my original comment was off topic. Creating good UIs is a worthy cause as long simplicity and mass appeal is not valued over substance.
As for mobile games, I will disagree. There is a huge inertia and lack of creativity. Everyone is trying to copy everyone else. Just look at the screenshots of a typical game in play store. Same style everywhere, they've even started to not show game content because it's just not there. Yet somehow I can run emulator and ejoy quality games with no input problems. Clearly it's not a limitation of the device.
