I have come across a historically relevant game called Al-Rodwan Operation. It's an FPS game released in ~2010 officially by Hezbollah, about the Lebanese/Israeli war (different than their other series of games, Special Forces).
I was able to get a sealed DVD from the lead developer who wants to remain unnamed. He said he used a custom DRM for the game, and gave me permission to try and crack it, though he was confident I won't be able to. He no longer has access to the source code, and had 2 DVDs left, one is with me.
I have tried everything I know to no avail.
First, I tried using ddrescue, but it got stuck at around 30%. Disc is in great condition, so it was probably the intentional bad sectors by the DRM. I then tried Alchohol 120%, and after 80 hours, I got an mdf/mds files.
But when trying to install the game from the setup, decompressing fails.
I tried binwalk. After multiple hours, I was able to get most(?) of the files, revealing a game using the Cry Engine. But the files are unordered and unnamed, and after trying for hours to reassemble them, I failed.
I have also tried using UniExtract, and was able to get the correct folder structure, but no actual files.
Any suggestions? Anyone willing to help archive and share this game?
Thank you

I read this in it's entirety. Not skimmed through it, but read every single word (took about 30 minutes)
You can imagine my disappointment when in the end, the code is still basically a mystery, and a wrapper around the core game was made.
Not because what you did is not hard or impressive, it's because, up until the line were you said you are going to use a wrapper, you made it seem like you're deciphering the code. That isn't really clickbait, because I had already clicked and spent 20 minutes reading. Being misled felt a bit bad, considering how beautifully the story is written.
Impressive work nonetheless.

So a good test would be replacing the spell names in the books with made-up spells. And if a "real" spell name was given, it also tests whether it "cheated".

This is my first time learning about this, so it's not like I hate Wayland and want confirmation on it. But the comments did not refute his main claims. It's a debate on whether the restrictions are a good trade off, but it seems to me that what he said is factual mostly.

It is not subreddit moderation, my whole account was suspended. And it's not about that, it's about the fact that videos of IDF dying is banned, while Russians is not.
Discussion on media censorship.

At the end of 2023, I posted a raw video in /r/CombatFootage showing IDF soldiers being hit by Hezbollah. No commentary, no mocking.
Two weeks ago, my 10-year-old Reddit account (with no prior warnings) was permanently suspended, with that video cited as the reason.
Meanwhile, during the same war, dozens of videos showing the IDF attacking stayed up. Dozens of videos of Russians dying are still posted daily.
My appeal of the suspension has gone unanswered. The moderation seems less about “combat footage” and more about which side is shown losing.
