The U.S. wants to retain the right to commit war crimes without someone charging U.S. officials or soldiers with them, they have the sovereign right to commit war crimes. Russia doesn't, Iraq doesn't. The U.S. does, Israel does.

That is the 'International rules-based order' as opposed to the U.N. international law order.

I am not American but given Germany's own role in much of what is going on in Gaza and the West Bank, the weapons shipments to Israel, (no 2 supplier after the US) and the diplomatic cover it gives to Israel, there's a lot Germany still needs to reflect on today.

Hint: The lesson was supposed to be that genocide is bad, period. Not that it's ok as long as it is some of the descendants Germany hurt doing it this time.

They're killing Americans in the West Bank, grabbing US tax payer money while laughing at how easy Americans are to manipulate, aggressively spying on all kinds of US targets incl by placing spy equipment on Secret Service vehicles during visits, spitting on Christians who visit Israel, harassing American lawmakers and diplomats, dragging the US into wars that don't serve its interests or the interests of its other partners, draining US military equipment meant to protect other assets etc. etc.

I am sure no other country could get away with the amount of shit the Israelis pull on a regular basis.

Capitalists want to pay their workers as little as possible or even not have workers and pocket close to 100% of the profits since forever. Whether they'll be able to do it this time is yet to be seen. Putting the tech itself aside, which is far from good enough yet imo, the only way to avoid a massive social backslash would be to use some of the additional profit they're able to keep because of AI for social spending. And I just don't think they realize yet that it's probably in their interest to do so if they want to replace 'human resources' with AI.

Because these two groups are not the same? My argument is, if a company overperforms to the point that some of the profits can be allocated to longer-term development without upsetting shareholders because the QbyQ profits are great, (like Apple did with the iPod), but if you can either only increase quarterly profits and not do long-term R&D or keep profits the same but do the R&D then no R&D it is.

In other words, Apple had to start with the iPod because that didn't require massive long-term R&D and then once that became such a success that Apple could not only satisfy shareholders on a short term basis, but also set money aside for long-term R&D was the iPhone possible.

Yes? That doesn't mean they can't spend billions on R&D. If Apple didn't sell iPods like hotcakes, they wouldn't be able to R&D the iPhone. That doesn't mean nobody at Apple had long-term vision, quite the opposite.
