I had a similar experience recently coding a wordle clone on and for a Psion 3a (an early 90s palmtop pc) the screen only shows a few lines of code, and the built in ide is little more than a text editor. I really enjoyed the process

YouTube premium actually has its own version of sponsorblock called skip ahead, it works really well, so they’re not ideologically opposed to skipping sponsored segments

I wonder if this is related to yellowing plastics? Retr0brighting with peroxide and sunbriting (putting yellowed plastics out in the sun) are already common treatments in the retro community. I’ll have to give it a try on some of my old hardware

This won’t require companies to keep servers running, just that they have an end of life plan, eg: releasing a version of the server that can be self hosted for multiplayer games

Only the mk 5 supra (2020 onwards) has anything to do with BMW. Up until the mk 4 stopped production in 02 there had been 25ish years of purely Toyota Supra/Celica Supra

Not the case, I can see all the local data from my watch in the app and still sync the two, just missing cloud backups and online specific functionality

I’ve written a PWA that I use daily on my iPhone, and it delivers push notifications when I’m not using the app to the lock screen.

Don’t get me wrong, Apple’s PWA implementation is very limited, but you can definitely have background notifications and lock screen notifications.

I’ve not casually browsed reddit since apollo shut down, occasionally I’ll end up on a post from a search, or my wife will show me something she’s seen, but that’s it. I was a pretty heavy user before as well.

Before apollo stopped I had set my phone to limit me to half an hour a day, a limit I hit almost every day, and regularly exceeded.

I don’t really miss it though, so it’s probably been a net benefit for me, but I’m still pissed off at how it went down

I’m not 100% on this but I believe the NES has a dedicated graphics chip for sprite manipulation, where as it all had to be done in software on the PC

  git checkout -

(The same way you can use ‘cd -‘ to change to your previous directory)
