Doesn't Hurricane Electric do FreeDNS ? Haven't tested it but I assume with all their peering agreements they have decent latency

Get a box fan with the widest (largest depth) frame. Air King is technically a separate brand but I think maybe a Lasko. Would recommend

Saw it last night and it was incredible. Magnum Opus of stop motion. The amount of effort and expertise is extremely impressive

I think he just means disable any of the "advanced" features mentioned above like accessing web content, running custom scripts, etc etc. You might still be vulnerable to any dependencies they use for image rendering itself but I bet it would make it drastically more safe.

Then just have a button for turning those on as needed on a case by case basis

New comment by Melatonic in "Disney Raising Prices Days After Confirming Ads Will Now Show Up on Every Tier"

Melatonic — Fri, 23 Oct 2026 16:16:33 +0000

So glad I cancelled years ago

New comment by Melatonic in "Jailbreaking the Switch 2"

Melatonic — Thu, 22 Oct 2026 15:52:39 +0000

I wonder if we're gonna get a situation like Switch 1 where the first generation has the ability to software jailbreak and run modded firmware with later generations requiring a mod chip

For anybody running Crowdtrike are there any downsides to enabling the Linux sensor settings for "Enhanced PHP visibility" ?

Edit: may have gotten Cloudflare and Crowdstrike mixed up but might as well leave this up

Didn't IBM actually do a lot of font research back in the day ?

New comment by Melatonic in "Nordwand Mono – A monospace font for coders and adventurers"

Melatonic — Tue, 20 Oct 2026 17:39:23 +0000

Interesting. I had never heard of them or a difference. Why is a vector font worse ? Can't vectors scale up and down without loss?

Yeah I think this is overblown

Given what we've seen about the "aligned" models accidentally hacking recently it seems good to at least be cautious
